Getting back into our renders again, I am reminded of the time Ridley Scott, the talent behind some our best films, came to visit and critique our work.
Well, sort of.
I've mentioned before how dreams not only come up in anxious moments, but also can help you make decisions.
Deep in the middle of trying to get our "look" right, I dreamed one night that Sir Ridley stopped by to see our progress. He flew in, took a look, said "Your middle ground and foreground values are too similar," and he flew away.
I woke up the next morning and remembering what he said, checked the image.
He was right. Damn, that guy really is good. He can even travel across the collective unconscious for the sake of a better image.
I corrected the image and thanked the film gods.
Attached is the image, which has become the benchmark we set to try and live up to.
Cheers, Uncle Ridley. May we live up to your critique.
